Arrow Care & Support FAQ

Questions about caring for your Deer Crossing Archery arrows? Start here, and contact us when you need help identifying a shaft or component. Follow the instructions supplied with your arrows, components, and bow.

What should I check before using an arrow?

Before each use, inspect the shaft, nock, point, insert, and fletching for visible damage or loose parts. Look for cracks, splits, splintering, and damaged or poorly seated nocks. Inspect again after an impact or a missed shot. Do not shoot an arrow with suspected damage. If you are unsure about its condition, stop using it and contact support or a qualified archery professional. A visual check alone does not establish that an arrow is safe to shoot.

What if a shaft is embedded or damaged?

Do not shoot a damaged shaft or attempt to make it usable by covering a crack or splinter. Keep hands away from sharp points and exposed fibers. Do not bend, twist, or force an embedded shaft free if doing so could damage it or expose you to sharp edges. Ask a qualified archery professional for help when removal or condition is uncertain. If an arrow is embedded in a person, seek emergency medical care; do not attempt removal yourself.

What should I do after arrows get wet?

Wipe off moisture with a soft cloth and allow arrows and their storage case to dry before closing the case. Inspect components before the next use. Follow component-specific care instructions; do not assume exposure to water leaves every component or adhesive unaffected.

How should I store and transport arrows?

Use a protective arrow case or suitable rack that keeps shafts supported and points contained. Store dry and away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, crushing loads, children, and pets. Keep sharp points protected during handling and transport.

How do I choose replacement shafts or nocks?

Match replacements to your exact shaft and setup rather than appearance alone. Tell support your arrow series, spine, shaft length, and current nock or insert system. Do not force a nock that does not fit, and do not shoot with a cracked, loose, or damaged nock. A replacement nock does not make a damaged shaft serviceable. Ask support or a qualified archery professional to confirm compatibility and installation requirements before making changes.

For current Hunter Series specifications, see Hunter Series. Specifications are not a substitute for confirming compatibility with your individual setup.

How do I contact support?

Use our Contact Us page. Include your order number if available, arrow series and spine, shaft length, affected components, a description of the concern, and when you noticed it. If the contact form supports attachments, include clear photos of the shaft markings and affected area; otherwise ask how to send them. Stop using any arrow whose condition is in question while seeking guidance. Do not send damaged arrows or sharp components until you have requested handling and shipping instructions.
